I mentioned taking a flyer on Wennburg if he comes available. But how about Jeff Skinner? Jamie Benn? Yanni Gourde? Justin Faulk? Anyone of those I would like for either a prove it .........nah neither of them would take a 1 or 2 year contract......gotta offer 3-4 years but the money would have to be less than 80% of the contract they were bought out from.
I would think if NYR bought out Lundqvist and wish to cut more salary with trading Trouba, I would like to see him wear the wing wheel if they retained $1M salary. But not by giving up a 1st rounder of course. I spose it would be more realistic if Stevie brought back Brendan Smith and a 2nd for an AHLer or a 7th.........

I’m not sure who they have Pitt buying out yet. When that list hits I’ll take a swing

Honestly, Hornquist is like Holmstrom was for Detroit. He pays a huge price and everyone hates him but his teammates. Not a great fit for Detroit right now, but another contender might grab him on the right deal

Once the next 10 get released I’ll hit on those as well. Skinner, maybe. Benn, it’s hard to say. At some point he’s going to crash. He’s put on HARD miles. Gourde and Faulk both yes if they would take a short term deal. One thing Wings can offer, prove it for 4 months and we’ll trade you to a contender. I wanted Trouba for Detroit so badly. He’s a stud, for sure, and I doubt they’ll let him go for a while. Thanks for putting that together! So much more fun when you guys bring this stuff to the table. Stay safe

You stay safe too. I am in a rural great white north location in da central U.P. (still have 2' of snow on the ground) Originally from Detroit, watched Gordie and Alex and Frank together when I was in HS. I played box lacrosse at Olympia Stadium one hot summer (1970) Got to dress in the visitor's locker room, thinking of all the greats that visited that place and sat where we were.....The Rocket, and his bro the Pocket Rocket, Beliveau, Gump, Keon, Tim Horton , Bobby Baun, Bobby Orr, Espo, Cheevers, The Golden Jet, Makita, I could go on.......
I would hope this country gets back sooner so we can watch some summer hockey! It is good to project what might happen to our favorite team to pass this boring expanse of time. Will be watching for more responses.

What a fantastic journey! I grew up in Rockwood, born in Trenton. My first great sports memory was the Tigers in ‘84 (I was only 7). I’ve been in Michigan my whole life, my wife and I love the U.P. We’ve done the bridge walk several times, been as high as copper harbor. Northern Michigan is a whole different world. I love this state so much. I, too, look forward to a return to normal. The big positive I can see is a realization of all we take for granted. All of a sudden those cellars filled with mason jars that our grandparents had don’t look so crazy. They understood hardship on a whole different level. I thank God every day now for the blessings that I didn’t appreciate. I hope to be a better human being because of all of this

How is Andrew Cogliano only 32. It feels like he's been in the league for 20 years

Could T. Hall come to Detroit and be a leader for the youth movement? Can he be a future NHL captain? I know he’s not a left over but can he bring something to Detroit?

I can't see Hall wanting to play for the Wings right now. He's had to deal with rebuilds for so long (Oilers and Devils) that at this point i think he wants to play for a contender or at least a team that can make the playoffs regularly.

Could he bring something and be a valuable part of the turnaround? Yes, absolutely.

Would he be interested? Probably not.

Dylan Strome? Rumor he might be available, reasonable contract
